Random Customer Questions

DHT Blocking & Minoxidil:

Thank you for your inquiry about our products.  Also let me apologize for taking so long to respond.

  • Complete™ does not block any of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme because that is not how it works. Complete™ allows your body to make the same amount of DHT that it normally would, it simply keeps the DHT your body has from binding to the hair follicle.  This is why Complete™ has no known side effects unlike Propecia®.
  • Because everyone makes a different amount of DHT the percentage of DHT blocked can not be measured. The Complete™ binds to every androgen receptor it can, therefore blocking as much DHT as possible.  Also because everyone is different there is no set time for the Complete™ to start working, however, most of our clients see results within one month.
  • Using a DHT Blocker such as Complete™ is a good start towards stopping hair loss and re-growth. However, with our doctors and 16 years of treating thousands of clients we have found that treating hair loss three ways works best. First we advocate good scalp hygiene by using a scalp cleanser and Scalp Scripts™ Shampoo. Secondly, we use an oral agent such as Complete™.  Thirdly we treat topically with Minoxidil or Topical Saw Palmetto.  While our clients have had wonderful results while taking the Complete™, treating your hair loss all three ways will give you the best results.
  • Yes we do use ethyl alcohol in the 15% Minoxidil. However, it is less than 1% alcohol and it is denatured alcohol.  And unfortunately Minoxidil can not be made without some alcohol.  However, over the counter Minoxidil is by volume 60% alcohol.
  • If you were to purchase 15% through us, you would first need to fill out a medical questionnaire we would send to you by fax or through e-mail. After the questionnaire is filled out we will give it to the doctor to review.  Once the doctor has reviewed the questionnaire he will call you to discuss treatment.  This consultation is a one time fee of $30.  We need to have you speak with the doctor due to the fact that 15% Minoxidil is a prescription product only.  If you did obtain the prescription the 15% Minoxidil would come in a 30g bottle for $125.00.  This is the only size that can be purchased.
  • The 15% Minoxidil can be applied twice a day.
  • We do not have a combination of Minoxidil and Azelaic acid. We have a combination of 5% or 10% Minoxidil and Saw Palmetto.  If you were to obtain these products you would need to go through the same steps as if you wanted 15% Minoxidil as Minoxidil and Saw Palmetto are compounded products.
  • We do not supply 5% Topical Spironolactone. We use a combination of the Minoxidil and Complete to effectively block DHT and re-grow hair.  This combination has proved reliable and effective.
  • The only treatments we have that have animal related ingredients would be the AA PLUS, which is a tablet, and the Complete™ has marine extracts (shark cartilage) in it.

REGARDING ALOPECIA
Dear Kim
We received your email questions regarding Alopecia Areata. In the literature, there has been some success with a product called sulfazalazine, and some anecdotal articles in the journals regarding squaric acid dibutylester, imiquimod, topical tacrolimus, and diphencyprone. Also, anthralin, corticosteriod injections and minoxidil have been used.

In our clinic, we sometimes see success with dexpanthenol, coenzyme, laser and ionization with minoxidil. These products can be used in conjunction with any treatment from a dermatologist. As you know, there is no real known cause for alopecia areata and is very unpredictable. Hopefully, a dermatologist can help you there. If you would like more detailed information or to order dexpanthenol, coenzyme or scalp script shampoo, please call us at 1-866-452-2669 to help you with your order.

Thank you very much for your interest. Good luck.

The Coenzyme Explanation:
Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your questions regarding carrier and coenzyme. Carrier is a product that helps to neutralize the alcohol in minoxidil. 5% minoxidil has much more alcohol than 2% and for many people causes considerable dryness and irritation. Alcohol is a penetration vehicle for minoxidil and too high of concentrations can drive more minoxidil in to more systemic areas. Carrier helps to minimize that while still keeping minoxidil in a liquid suspension and should be effective when used with xandrox. Utilizing Scalp Therapy first allows for better penetration of minoxidil to the dermal papilla where minoxidil works. Scalp Therapy also breaks up sebum buildup and makes the outer layer of the scalp more permeable. Coenzyme is a hair nutrient and contains a vehicle that helps to penetrate the active ingredients - cystine, panthenol and biotin. These are key minerals for stronger, healthier hair. You utilize coenzyme at night and Scalp Therapy just before showering. Please feel free to call with any other questions at 1-866-452-2669.

Hair Loss due to Zoloft
Dear Monica,

Your hair loss could be due to many reasons. Zoloft has many side effects but usually (according to the PDR) doesn't cause hair loss. It can cause hair loss but it is rare. Perhaps you should check with your pharmacist about the side effects. Are you on Zoloft or a generic and if generic what are the side effects?
Stress may cause hair loss as well as poor diet, losing weight too quickly, heredity (is there a history of hair loss or thinning hair in your family), are you anemic or do you have a problem with your thyroid? Without seeing you it is hard to determine the cause of your problem. Discuss this with your MD, or OB/GYN - hormones can cause hair loss too.

If you are from our area you might consider coming to see us. There is a lot of information on our website www.hlcconline.com as well as options for treatment. Look over the information and check with your MD and pharmacist. If you have further questions, please contact us.

Hair Transplant Question
Dear Ann,

Thank you for your inquiry. The procedure you are asking about is a hair transplant where the donor hair is taken from your scalp and re-inserted into the thinning areas. The transplanted hair is taken from the back of your head to prevent rejection. It can not be transplanted from another donor. While we do offer this procedure, I feel that treatment would be a better option for you. We have many products that promote all over healthy hair growth. Your thinning hair may be caused by chemical damage due to straighteners, perms, color, harsh shampoos or poor nutrition. Please check out our website for a full list of products and services: http://www.hlcconline.com/, or call us toll free at 1-866-452-2669. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have and take an order.

Rogaine causing more hair loss
Dear Ray,

Thank you for your inquiry. To answer your question, you are correct in stating that during the first 2-6 weeks of Rogaine® use you will experience a shedding. This is caused by the Rogaine® speeding up your normal hair cycle to encourage new growth. This is just a step in the re-growth of hair using Rogaine®, don’t be alarmed. The hairs lost during this shedding period are hairs you would have lost anyway. The Rogaine® simply speeds up the process.

The use of Rogaine® does improve the quality of your hair, keeping it in a growth cycle longer to produce thicker hair. To prevent further damage to your follicle leading to thinner hair, you must take an oral DHT blocker.

Please call us as 1-866-452-2669 or e-mail us as [email protected] for any further questions or to place an order. Thank you for your interest.

Hair Loss due to “Hair No More”
Dear Issac,

In order to be able to help you we would need to know more information. The first thing I would do is contact the company, Hair No More, and ask them if anything like this has ever happened before. Ask if there are any systematic side effects with use over a long period of time. Secondly, is your diet healthy? Sufficient amounts of protein in your diet are vital to healthy hair. Thirdly, have you been under a lot of stress lately? Also are you on any medications? Some medications will contribute to hair loss. If you get back to us after contacting Hair No More with the answers to these questions we will do our best to help you.

Please e-mail us or call us with the answers at 1-866-452-2669.

Propecia and Cancer
Dear Jack,

The truth is no one knows for sure. This study on increased aggressive and life threatening prostate cancer just came out. They stopped the study because the findings showed that Finasteride helped protect against most prostate cancer, but the more aggressive types of prostate cancer were worse with people taking Finasteride.
Here are some simple facts:

1. If you can do an herbal and get similar or better results with no side effects why take the risk?
2. The herbal costs less.
3. For a about what Propecia costs you can do a whole program that includes both herbal and FDA proven products to stop hair loss and get regrowth of hair.

S0 why risk you health if you don't have to? We have 15 years of experience and proven results. We sell Propecia alone and as part of a program too, but why start with it if you don't have to? Most of our people don't use Propecia to get results.

Please call toll free with any question 866-452-2669. Thanks.

Propecia and long term use
Dear Robert,

Men taking Propecia® over long periods of time will see improvement for approximately the first 18 months to 2 years. After that time, you are more likely to just maintain. Although hair loss can not be completely stopped, it can be significantly slowed. Propecia® works by blocking the enzyme (5-alpha reductase) which breaks down the testosterone into DHT. It is not 100% effective in this process. It may also cause undesirable side effects, interfering with sexual health.

We have developed a new product called HLCC™ Scripts Complete that also blocks DHT, but in a different way. It also contains vitamins, minerals and other ingredients essential for hair growth, so it helps growth healthy hair faster, and protects against DHT damage. HLCC™ Scripts Complete does not interfere with the formation of DHT, therefore there are no known side effects. For more information about this product here is a link to our website: http://www.hlcconline.com/hlcccomplete.htm.

No one can predict what your hair loss will be in the future. The only thing we can tell you with absolute certainty is that if you do not treat your hair loss it will progress. There is no known cause for androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness), but it can be slowed. We have had great success with this for 16 years. Please check out our website and treatment programs. These programs work as long as you are compliant with the instructions and are diligent about using the products daily.

Propecia and Skin Rashes
Dear Jack,

While Propecia® has many side effects including skin rashes I have not personally seen a client with this problem. However, if you are worried about taking Propecia® because of any side effects, we have developed a new oral treatment called HLCC™ Scripts Complete - The Ultimate DHT blocker and Hair Nutritional™. This product unlike Propecia® is all natural and has no known side effects. The way Hair Scripts Complete works is by protecting your hair follicle to prevent the DHT from binding to it. Because HLCC™ Scripts Complete allows your body to continue to make the same amount of testosterone, unlike Propecia®, there is no chance of sexual dysfunction or any other side effects. Please take a look at our website for further information on HLCC™ Scripts Complete - The Ultimate DHT blocker and Hair Nutritional™. Here is a link to our website:

Shampoo that is safe from harsh chemicals
Nigel

At HLCC we do not use shampoos that have SLS or DEA. Both of these are harsh chemicals to your hair. We use much milder surfactant agents in our shampoo. If you would like to try Scalp Scripts, please call us at 1-866-452-2669. Scalp Scripts is a great adjunct to Nizoral on the days you are not using a ketoconozole based shampoo.
Thank you for your inquiry.

Side Effects of Minoxidil
Dear Richard,

Thank you for your inquiry. First let me apologize for taking so long to respond. Minoxidil has been around for 15 years with little problem. Rarely are there systematic side effects as Minoxidil is a very safe and benign product. However, over the counter Minoxidil is by volume 60% alcohol. What this means is that you are number one not getting the full amount of Minoxidil you should, and number two there is much more chance of irritation due to the high alcohol content. We at HLCC do three things to make Minoxidil work better. Here is the link to that page of our web site: http://www.hlcconline.com/howwemademinoxidilbetter.htm.

As for topical Minoxidil being significantly safer than oral remedies, that is no longer true. We have developed a product called HLCC Complete DHT Blocker and Hair Nutritional. This product is all natural with no known side effects. HLCC Complete DHT Blocker and Hair Nutritional allows your body to continue to make DHT (unlike Propecia), it simply blocks the DHT from binding to your hair follicle. This pill has proven very effective amongst our clients. If you do not treat orally as well as topically the DHT will continue to bind to and damage the new hair follicles.

Treating Hair Loss 3 Ways:
Dear Harish:

Thank you for your interest in our products. With our doctors and 20 years of treating thousands of clients we have found that treating hair loss three ways works best. First we advocate good scalp hygiene by using a scalp cleanser and Scalp Scripts™ Shampoo. Secondly, we use an oral agent such as HLCC Complete DHT Blocker and Hair Nutritional™ (more below). Thirdly we treat topically.

You have noted that your hair loss may not be androgenic alopecia or male pattern loss. You are correct that a change in job or circumstances and the stress that accompanies these changes can cause hair loss. Your diet also is very important. Are you eating more fast food working nights? The Scripts Complete not only blocks DHT to prevent further loss but also contains the vitamins and minerals essential for hair growth. Other ingredients may stimulate new hair growth. Think of this as fighting hair loss from the inside out. You should also treat topically with good scalp hygiene (shampoo, scalp cleanser and a product called coenzyme which is a hair nutrient). If these products do not produce the desired re-growth after 3 months, I would suggest adding Minoxidil. Remember hair does not grow quickly, you will not see results overnight.

Will Rogaine Stop Hair Loss?
Dear Guy,

Thank you for inquiring about our products. With our doctors and 16 years of treating thousands of clients we have found that treating hair loss three ways works best. First we advocate good scalp hygiene by using a scalp cleanser and Scalp Scripts Shampoo. Secondly, we use an oral agent such as Propecia® or for those who do not want the side effects we have herbal alternatives (more below). Thirdly we treat topically. Rogaine® is a topical agent that will slow but not completely stop hair loss. We do however, do three things to make Minoxidil work better. Here is the link to that page of our web site: http://www.hlcconline.com/howwemademinoxidilbetter.htm. If you do not treat orally as well, the DHT will continue to bind to your hair and damage the follicle. Good scalp hygiene is essential to help your topical product work better.

We have developed a new oral treatment called HLCC Scripts Complete - The Ultimate DHT blocker and Hair Nutritional™. This product unlike Propecia is all natural and has no known side effects. The way Hair Scripts Complete works is by protecting your hair follicle to prevent the DHT from binding to it. Because Complete™ allows your body to continue to make the same amount of testosterone, unlike Propecia, there is no chance of sexual dysfunction.

Laser comb trial
Jeff,

If 89% of the users see results by the 12 week mark why is the trial period only 2 weeks? People need to use it for it to work; short trial period’s encourages people to start using the product ASAP. We are completely confident in the LaserComb and it works even better Herbal Propecia you get with it. We will be happy to extend the trial period to 12 weeks for you. We are confident if you are compliant and use the comb as directed you will be happy. The only people we find who are not happy are those who are not compliant or expect a full head of hair in a few weeks. We encourage you to take pictures before the LaserComb and then after 12 weeks and see and feel the difference in your hair. We look forward to the opportunity to help you.

FDA Compliance of Complete and Rogaine

Dear Andy:

Thank you for your interest in our products.  What we mean by labeling approved by FDA is that all of the ingredients used in HLCC Complete™ are FDA approved, the labeling itself is FDA compliant and has gone though an extensive compliance scrutiny.  There have not been any clinical trials done on HLCC Complete™ other than the results of our clients.  HLCC Complete™ has proven to be very effective on our current clients.  We can not compare a percentage of DHT blocked to that of Propecia® because Propecia® does not block the DHT from binding to the hair follicles, it stops your body from producing so much DHT, which your body needs.  Because HLCC Complete™ allows your body to still produce the amounts of DHT it needs for other functions of the body, there are no side effects like there are with Propecia®.  No currently available products designed for hair loss block 100% of the DHT.

With our doctors and 16 years of treating thousands of clients we have found that treating hair loss three ways works best. First we advocate good scalp hygiene by using a scalp cleanser and Scalp Scripts™ Shampoo. Secondly, we use an oral agent such as HLCC Complete™.  Thirdly we treat topically.  Minoxidil is a topical agent that will in help encourage new growth.  We have found that treating hair loss all three ways has given the best results.

The 15% Minoxidil does have alcohol in it but it is less than 1%.  The alcohol in it is also denatured.  The cost of our 15% Minoxidil is $125.00 for a 30gram bottle.  Any item designated prescription requires you would first need to fill out a medical questionnaire we would send to you through e-mail.  After the questionnaire is filled out we will give it to the doctor to review.  Once the doctor has reviewed the questionnaire he will call you to discuss treatment.  This consultation is a one time fee of $30.  We need to have you speak with the doctor due to the fact that 10% or 15% Minoxidil are prescription products.  The carrier product we offer is for the liquid forms of 5% and 10% Minoxidil that neutralizes the alcohol in them.

Please call us as 1-866-452-2669 or e-mail us as [email protected] for any further questions or to place an order.   Thank you for your interest.
