Yes. For better results, use minoxidil first as it is a vasodilator and when dry, apply the MGT.
Men taking Propecia® over long periods of time will see improvement for approximately the first 18 months to 2 years. After that time, you are more likely to just maintain. Although hair loss cannot be completely stopped, it can be significantly slowed. Propecia® works by blocking the enzyme (5-alpha reductase) which breaks down the testosterone into DHT. It is not 100% effective in this process. It may also cause undesirable side effects, interfering with sexual health. Increasing the doseage of the Propecia®is not recommended.
HLCC has developed a product called HLCC™ScriptsComplete that blocks DHT, but in a different way. It also contains vitamins, minerals and other ingredients essential for hair growth, so it helps grow healthy hair faster, and protects against DHT damage. HLCC™Scripts Complete does not interfere with the formation of DHT; therefore there are no known side effects.
Men who have a very aggressive hair loss should consider using both products at the same time. They would then be blocking DHT in two different ways, and nourishing their hair with the added vitamins, minerals and marine concentrate that makes the HLCC™Scripts Complete so effective. If a person is allergic to Shellfish, substitute the AA Plus which does not have the marine concentrate but includes the other ingredients essential for healthy hair.
NOTE* Men who are 50 or older should have a yearly blood test called a PSA to check their Prostate health. Using Finasteride, Propecia® or Saw Palmetto may interfere with the reading of this blood test by showing lower than actual test values. You should notify your doctor that you are taking these medications. Your doctor may suggest you stop taking these medications several days to a week prior to this test to have a more accurate test result.
During the first 2-6 weeks of Minoxidil use you may experience a shedding. This is caused by the Minoxidil speeding up your normal hair cycle to encourage new growth. This is just a step in the re-growth of hair using Minoxidil. Don’t be alarmed, the hairs lost during this shedding period are hairs you would have lost anyway. The Minoxidil simply speeds up the process.
The use of Minoxidil does improve the quality of your hair, keeping it in a growth cycle longer to produce thicker hair. Side effects are rare but can happen. See the product information for more information. Allergic reactions would be noticed by swelling of the forehead or scalp or development of a rash on the scalp. Discontinue use of Minoxidil at once.
To prevent further damage to your follicle leading to thinner hair, you must take an oral DHT blocker such as HLCC™Scripts Complete.
Results may not be visible in your mirror for 3 to 6 months. The first things people notice is that there is less fall out and that their hair looks and feels healthier. It is also easier to style and has more body.
Any hair loss program is long term therapy. It is just like treating high blood pressure or diabetes. The best results are achieved when a client is compliant and has healthy habits such as eating the proper food and keeping generally healthy. Thyroid issues, diabetes, anemia, hormonal issues, stress, depression, auto immune disease and other health issues all affect the success of any program.
Laser therapy is a significant tool in the treatment of hair loss. HLCC has been treating hair loss for over 20 years and in our clinics and studies, we have found that treating with a multi-therapeutic approach works better than just laser alone. We advocate 4 steps; good scalp hygiene, topical solutions, oral DHT blockers and Laser therapy.
Good scalp hygiene is necessary to promote a healthy scalp and the right environment for topical solutions to penetrate better. The right shampoo is also essential for your hair to look and feel healthier and style more easily.
Topical solutions may include Minoxidil in strengths of 5% or by prescription (US only, excludes Tennessee) of higher strengths including 10% and 15% with or without Saw Palmetto. We also have MGT (Maximum Growth Therapy) and Coenzyme.
DHT blockers include HLCC™Scripts Complete, HLCC™AAPlus or prescription Finasteride.
Laser Therapy is available with several options including Clinic, Home Lasers, and Hand held Units.
People who do all of these steps have significantly better results than those who do only Laser therapy.
For liability reasons we do not treat anyone under 18 years of age.
There are several medications that may cause hair loss. The most common are: Anticoagulants (blood thinners), Anti Anxiety medications, Statins for lowering cholesterol, Hormones, Thyroid medications, and some Blood Pressure medications. There are many others, check with your doctor and pharmacist about side effects and possible alternative solutions. NEVER STOP PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH THE DOCTOR WHO ORDERED THEM.
If you are pregnant or are trying to get pregnant, we suggest you delay treatment until after you deliver or if you are breast feeding wait until you are no longer breast feeding. You may continue to use our HLCC™Scripts gentle shampoo and conditioner.
We recommend you do Laser treatments every other day or 2 to 3 times a week with at least a day in between.
Minoxidil is a vasodilator and Laser also increases circulation to your scalp, so it is not recommended that you apply Minoxidil and then sit under the Laser. We usually recommend applying Minoxidil at night and shampooing in the morning so your hair does not look or feel sticky or heavy from product in your hair all day long. For people who apply Minoxidil twice a day, apply the Minoxidil after your Laser treatment.
Usually it takes about 3 months and you will shed the hair you have gained using minoxidil. You will return to where you would have been if you had not used Minoxidil. If you start Minoxidil again you will usually improve, but may not be as successful as you were before.
HLCC™HairScripts Minoxidil contains a Carrier Lotion which significantly reduces the alcohol content and therefore the irritation caused by the high alcohol content (30 to 60% ) of Minoxidil purchased elsewhere. It also contains ingredients to help the minoxidil absorb better so your results are improved and most people can apply it once a day instead of twice a day which saves time and improves the look of your hair during working hours.
We recommend you use good products and have your coloring done by someone skilled in the use of such products. Do not use minoxidil or other topical solutions on the day you color your hair or until you shampoo your hair. This minimizes the possibility of a chemical reaction between all the chemicals you are applying to your hair and scalp. Do not use a Laser comb or have a Laser treatment on the day you color your hair.
Alcohol free products are best. HLCC has several alcohol free styling products.
It may be taken with other medication, but people on chemo therapy should check with their Oncologist before taking this supplement.
You may use the laser after towel drying your hair. For many people this is an ideal time when their scalp is more visible than when their hair is dry.
It is not ideal but it is acceptable. It would be better if clients could come for a laser treatment without Toppik and then apply it after treatment. We have a private laser room for those who have severe alopecia, and wear a wig, and a place where clients may apply Toppik in private (mirror provided).
